UNH Draws Florida in NCAA Volleyball Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - The 2015 America East Volleyball Champion New Hampshire Wildcats will travel to face No. 11 seed Florida in the NCAA Championship first round on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET in the Austin Regional. The full 2015 NCAA Volleyball bracket was released on ESPNU on Sunday night.

The Wildcats (21-8) won their third-straight America East title, defeating Albany in four sets on November 21 at Lundholm Gymnasium in Durham, N.H. Senior Tori Forrest was named the Most Outstanding Player and she was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Madison Lightfoord and Cassidy Croci.

New Hampshire also captured a share of its third-straight America East regular-season title with an 11-1 mark, going 22-2 in conference action over the past two seasons. The Wildcats are 0-4 all-time in the NCAA tournament, with the team losing its previous three appearances in 2014 to Washington and in 2013 and 2003 to USC.

America East teams have one win all-time in NCAA tournament play coming in 2007 when Albany defeated Cleveland State in three sets.

First- and second-round matches will be played at 16 campus sites.  Teams winning both matches will move on to regional play December 11 and 12. The pre-determined regional sites are Austin, Texas, Des Moines, Iowa, Lexington, Kentucky, and San Diego. All regional semifinal matches will be shown on ESPN3. Regional final matches will air on ESPNU.

The regional winners will advance to the semifinals and final hosted by Nebraska at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska on December 17 and 19. Both national semifinal matches as well as the championship match will be broadcast by ESPN2.
