BOSTON - Five America East programs ran at the 42nd annual Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh Friday. Two teams had top-10 finishes with the Binghamton men placing seventh of 27 teams while the Albany women were seventh out of 35 squads.

Here are the week five top performers:

Men's Performer of the Week
Hassan Omar, UMBC - Sr., Frederick, Md.

  • Posted his best performance of the year at the Paul Short Invitational, placing eighth out of 278 runners.
  • Completed the course in 24:13.

Women's Performer of the Week
Sarah Daly, UMBC - Sr., Lake Orion, Mich.

  • Was the top America East finisher at the Paul Short Invitational Friday, placing 13th out of 312 competitors.
  • Ran the course in 20:55.

  • Seven America East programs are regionally ranked.
  • UMBC men are ranked 10th in the latest USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll while Binghamton rose two spots to 12th and UMass Lowell slid one spot to 15th.
  • New Hampshire women are eighth in the women's USTFCCCA Northeast Poll while Albany is 12th and Stony Brook is 13th. UMBC entered the Mid-Atlantic Poll at #12 this week.
