Seven standout America East soccer student-athletes, four women and three men, were honored with Academic All-District honors from CoSIDA on Thursday. The program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
On the women's side, three Hartford Hawks received first-team recognition in District 1, seniors Emma Donnelly, a second-team All-Conference selection, and Erica Primovic and junior Katie Connolly. Albany senior Krista Fitzpatrick also joined the 11-member squad, giving America East more honorees than any other conference. District 1 consists of schools from all six New England states and New York.
On the men's side, Hartford's senior Anthony LoBello and Binghamton's senior Pascal Trappe were first-team District I choices. UMBC's junior Billy Heavner, last year's NCAA men's soccer Elite 89 winner as well as the America East Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, was a first-team choice in District II.
First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and thirdteam All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
