BOSTON -  It was a light week in America East volleyball with just three conference matches. New Hampshire remained unbeaten and needs just one more win to clinch a spot in the America East tournament. Meanwhile, UMBC earned an important victory over Stony Brook, Albany remained just one match behind UNH with a win over Binghamton. Here are the week nine award winners:

Player of the Week
Tori Forrest, New Hampshire, Sr., OH, Powder Springs, Ga.

  • Posted 13 kills and 10 digs in a win over Hartford, her team-leading 10th double-double of the season.
  • Led the conference with 4.33 kills/set and ranked ninth with 3.33 digs/set.
  • Also added three blocks and two service aces.

Setter of the Week
Nicole Vogel, Stony Brook, Sr., S, Costa Mesa, Calif.

  • Led the conference, averaging 11.7 assists/set.
  • Helped team to a program-record .558 hitting percentage vs. Delaware State.
  • Quarterbacked the offense to a .282 hitting percentage in a 2-1 week.

Rookie of the Week
Maddie Schneider, Fr., OH, Olathe, Kan.

  • Totaled 12 kills, four blocks and five digs in a four-set win over Stony Brook.
  • Finished with a .226 hitting percentage.
  • Earns her second-straight Rookie of the Week honor.

Defensive Specialist of the Week
Nicole Otero, Albany, Fr., L, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

  • Led the conference, averaging 5.33 digs per set.
  • Helped the Albany defense hold opponents to an .054 hitting percentage.
  • Totaled 16 digs without committing an error in a win over Binghamton

  • New Hampshire will clinch a tournament spot with a win or a Binghamton loss.
