BOSTON - With less than two weeks remaining until the 2015 America Cross Country Championship, two of the top contenders for individual titles, Stony Brook's Christina Melian and UMBC's Hassan Omar, showed that they're in top form ahead of the meet on Oct. 31.
Here are the week six top performers:
Men's Performer of the Week
Hassan Omar, UMBC - Sr., Frederick, Md.
- Set a UMBC record in the 8K (23.55).
- Placed fourth overall at the Princeton Invitational.
- This is Omar's second Men's Performer of the Week honor of the season and fifth of his career.
Women's Performer of the Week
Christina Melian, Stony Brook - Jr., Staten Island, N.Y.
- Running in the top flight, Melian placed 10th at the Division I Pre-Nationa Meet in Louisville.
- Finished the 6K course in 20:13.6.
- This is her third Women's Performer of the Week honor of the season and fourth of her career.

- New Hampshire's Laura Rose Donegan finished 23rd, a 31-spot improvement over her seed position.
- Stony Brook's Elizabeth Caldwell won the individual title at Rothenberg Run in Warwick, R.I. with a time of 17:37.4 in the 5K.
- The Seawolves placed second of six teams competing without Melian.
- UMBC's Hassan Omar placed fourth overall at the Princeton Invitational, setting a UMBC record in the 8K (23.55).
- The Retriever men placed fifth of 21 teams at the event.
- Six America East programs are regionally ranked.
- UMBC men moved up two spots to eighth in the latest USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll while UMass Lowell moved up five places to 10th in the Northeast Poll and Binghamton slid one spot to 13th.
- New Hampshire women are eighth in the women's USTFCCCA Northeast Poll while Albany is 12th and Stony Brook is 13th.
