BOSTON - The America East volleyball season is eight weeks old and the New Hampshire Wildcats maintain their spot at the top of the conference with a 6-0 record. UNH has won 16-straight over America East opponents after a 2-0 week, while Albany and Binghamton each went 1-0 with wins over UMass Lowell. Here are the week eight award winners:
Player of the Week
Laini Leindecker, Albany, Jr., OH, New Philadelphia, Ohio
- Led the conference in kills (5.00/set) and ranked sixth in hitting percentage (.333), in a 1-0 week for the Great Danes.
- Also ranked seventh with 3.33 digs/set.
- Recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 15 kills and 10 digs on a .333 hitting percentage in a win over UMass Lowell.
Setter of the Week
Sarah Ngo, Binghamton, So., S, Franklin, Tenn.
- Talled a career-high 61 assists in a win over UMass Lowell.
- Led the conference with 12.2 assists/set and helped Binghamton to a .249 team hitting percentage, which ranked second in the league last week.
- Also added 13 digs and four kills.
Rookie of the Week
Maddie Schneider, Fr., OH, Olathe, Kan.
- Had a pair of double-digit kill games last week with 11 vs. New Hampshire and 10 vs. Hartford.
- Averaged 3.00 kills/set and 1.00 blocks/set in a 1-1 week.
- Finished with a .341 hitting percentage for the week.
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Madison Lightfoot, New Hampshire, Sr., DS, Clarkston, Mich.
- Ranked second in the conference with 5.29 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats.
- Totaled 16 digs vs. UMBC and 21 vs. Stony Brook.
- Helped UNH lead the conference, holding opponents to a .123 hitting percentage.

- New Hampshire has won 16-straight vs. America East teams.The Wildcats have dropped just one set in six conference matches this year.
- Albany sits in second place at 5-1, one game behind New Hampshire.
