4 Teams Featured in #AEVB Week 7 Awards

BOSTON -  New Hampshire continued its roll in America East play, extending its winning streak to 14-straight over conference opponents with two wins this week that also led to the team taking home a pair of weekly honors. UMBC and Stony Brook also went unbeaten this week as both squads topped UMass Lowell. Albany and Binghamton both split a pair of matches with losses to UNH and wins over Hartford. Here are the week six award winners:

Player of the Week
Kathy Fletcher, Stony Brook, OH, West Chicago, Ill.

  • Led the conference with 5.5 kills/set in a 1-1 week for the Seawolves.
  • Finished with a .382 hitting percentage and 2.88 digs/set.
  • Tallied 16 kills and seven digs on a career-best .424 hitting percentage in a sweep of Binghamton.
  • Notched a career-best and a conference season-high 28 kills in a five-set loss to Albany. Also added 16 digs in the match.

Setter of the Week
Keelin Severtson, New Hampshire, Jr., S, Delray Beach, Fla.

  • Led the conference, averaging 13.00 assists/set while also adding six digs vs. UMass Lowell.
  • Helped the team to a .402 hitting percentage, the best in the conference last week.

Rookie of the Week
Makenzie Morgen, UMBC, Fr., OH, Appleton, Wis.

  • Averaged 3.33 kills/set and & 2.33 digs/set in a 1-1 week for UMBC.
  • Had 12 kills and 10 digs in a five set loss to Albany.
  • Totaled 18 kills and 11 digs in a four-set win over Binghamton.

Defensive Specialist of the Week
Amanda Dolan, Albany, Jr., MB, Manhattan, Ill.

  • Totaled 16 blocks in a 2-0 week for the Great Danes.
  • Finished with 12 kills and eight blocks in a win over UMBC.
  • Had eight blocks and nine kills in a win over Stony Brook.

Notes

  • New Hampshire has won 13-straight regular-season matches vs. America East teams and 15-straight overall including last year's conference tournament.
  • Albany won a pair of matches and sits in second place with a 4-1 record in the conference standings.
  • Stony Brook suffered its first loss of the season to Albany, but stands 3-1 in the standings.
