BOSTON, Mass. - The Albany Great Danes continue their dominance during America East play with a 3-0 start to the conference season for the third-straight year and their second-straight Player of the Week honor. The Great Danes stan alone in first place ahead of three teams at 2-1, including New Hampshire which won its first Rookie of the Week honor. Here are the week nine award winners:

Player of the Week
Shereesha Richards, Albany, Jr., F, Rae Town, Jamaica

  • Led the conference in scoring and rebounding in a 2-0 week for the Great Danes, averaging 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
  • Shot 60.7 percent from the field, good for sixth in the conference while also leading the league with 3.5 steals per game.
  • Notched her league-leading sixth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win over New Hampshire.
  • Posted her conference-best seventh 20-point game of the year in a win ove rUMass Lowell, finishing with 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting to go with eight rebounds.
  • Her 12th Player of the Week honor of her career ties is third-most in America East history. 

Rookie of the Week
Carlie Pogue, New Hampshire, Fr., C, Cincinnati, Ohio

  • Averaged 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 52.8 percent from the floor to lead all freshmen in a 1-1 week for UNH.
  • Scoring 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and grabbed four rebounds in 21 minutes off-the-bench in a loss to Albany.
  • Notched a double-double in just 21 points, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to go with two assists and a block in a win over UMBC.

Notes

  • Albany has won 26-straight conference road games.
  • UNH is 9-1 when scoring 60-plus points this season.
  • Albany's Shereesha Richards has reached double figures in 16-straight games and has 12 career Player of the Week honors, the third-most in America East history.
  • Stony Brook has out-rebounded opponents 12 times in 15 games this season.
  • UNH has its best start since 2005-06 and has the best overall record in the America East at 10-5.
  • Binghamton is 2-1 in America East play for the first time since starting 2-0 in 2011-12.
  • Maine won at Hartford for the second-straight year, winning back-to-back road games vs. the Hawks for the first time since 2004 and 2005.
  • Freshmen Jasmine Sina and Imani Watkins have accounted for 51.3% of Binghamton's scoring this season.
  • Albany's Sarah Royals broke the Albany all-time assists record with six vs. UMass Lowell, giving her 381 for her career.
  • The America East has three wins vs. Power 5 Conferences - 2 vs. Big Ten (Albany and Hartford def. Penn State) and one vs. ACC (Maine def. Boston College). It is the first time since 2009-10 the America East has three wins over Power 5 teams.
  • The 29 points by Imani Watkins vs. Rider is the most points scored by a Bearcat player since Orla O'Reilly also scored 29 points against Siena on Nov. 15, 2011.
