CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – America East women's lacrosse opened conference play over the weekend with Albany, Stony Brook and Vermont getting off to 1-0 starts. Senior Sydney Mas led UVM to a pair of victories to earn Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Frankie Caridi anchored a tremendous Stony Brook defensive effor to be named Defensive Player of the Week. Albany freshman Dakotah Savitcheff rounded out the awards as Rookie of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Sydney Mas, Sr., A, Vermont
Bedford, N.Y.
- Totaled seven goals and one assist to lead Vermont to wins over Dartmouth and New Hampshire.
- Collected her 200th career goal against Dartmouth, becoming the first player in UVM history to score 200+ goals.
- Scored four goals, including the game-winner, and picked-up five ground balls in a 12-10 win over Dartmouth.
- Notched three goals, one assist, seven draw controls and three ground balls in a 15-12 win over New Hampshire.
Defensive Player of the Week
Frankie Caridi, Sr., GK, Stony Brook
East Northport, N.Y.
- Helped Stony Brook break a program record for fewest goals allowed in a conference game, holding UMBC to just one goal in a 12-1 win.
- Stopped three of the four shots she faced, causing one turnover and picking up one ground ball.
- Was named Lacrosse Magazine’s Most Outstanding Goalie in midseason report.
Rookie of the Week
Dakotah Savitcheff, Fr., A, Albany
Canadigua, N.Y.
- Totaled eight goals in two games to lead Albany to a pair of wins over Niagara and Binghamton.
- The eight goals came on just nine shots for an .889 shooting percentage.
- Started the week with three goals in a 19-9 win over Niagara.
- Scored a game-high five goals on five shots in a 22-2 win over Binghamton.

- Vermon't Sydney Mas became the first Catamount to be record 200 career goals.
- New Hampshire's Laura McHoul has tallied multiple assists in 7 of 11 games and multiple points in eight of 11.
- Vermont reached double-digit wins for the first time in school history, winning its 10th of the year against UNH.
- Stony Brook has held nine of its first 10 opponents under 10 goals and seven to under five.
- Stony Brook's Dorrien Van Dyke and Courtney Murphy and Albany's Dakotah Savitcheff were named to ILWomen's Midseason rookie of the Year Watch.
- Stony Brook's Frankie Caridi and Michelle Rubino, and Albany's Kathleen Lennon were named ILWomen Midseason All-Americans.
