CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A pair of players whose performances directly results in wins for their team last week have earned America East men's lacrosse weekly honors as Hartford’s Frank Piechota earned Player of the Week honors and Vermont’s Ian MacKay picked Rookie of the Week recognition:
Player of the Week
Frank Piechota, Sr., Goalkeeper, Hartford
- Recorded double-digit saves in leading his team to two wins last week.
- Made 10 stops while allowing just three goals in a 6-3 win over Quinnipiac on Wednesday.
- Stopped 13 shots in the Hawks’ 12-10 win over Sacred Heart Saturday.
- For the week, had a 6.50 GAA and a .639 save percentage.
Rookie of the Week
Ian MacKay, Fr., Attacker, Vermont
- Scored three times, including the game winner, in Vermont’s 11-10 double-overtime win over Wagner Saturday.
- Tallied the game winner with 1:45 left in the second overtime session.
- The multi-goal game was his fourth of the season.

- Hartford (4-3) posted wins over Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart last week.
- Ian MacKay scored in double-overtime to give Vermont an 11-10 win over Wagner Saturday.
- Jack Gannon tallied four points to lead UMBC to a 15-6 over Mercer last week.
- Albany (2-3) fell to No. 19 in the Warrior Media Poll.
- Lyle and Miles Thompson rank first and second nationally in points per game, averaging 7.20 and 6.20 respectively.
- Lyle leads the country in assists while Miles is tops in goals.
- Three other America East players rank in the nation’s top 30 in points per game: Kevin O’Shea, Hartford – T21, 3.86; Challen Rogers & Matt Schultz – T27, 3.71)
- Albany leads the nation scoring 15.8 goals per game.
