CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second-straight week Albany and Vermont have earned America East men's lacrosse weekly honors as the Great Danes' Lyle Thompson picked up Player of the Week recognition and the Catamounts' Michael Clarke was Rookie of the Week:
Player of the Week
LyleThompson, Jr., Attacker, Albany
- Set a program record by tallying 11 points in a 25-10 win over No. 9 UMass Saturday.
- Had four goals and seven assists.
- The 25 goals tied an Albany school record.
- This is his fourth career Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the WeekMichael Clarke, Fr., Attacker, Vermont
- Had seven points in Vermont's two games last week.
- Tallied a career-high five points (2 g, 3 ast) his last time out vs. Richmond.
- Registered back-to-back multi-goal games for the first time this season.
- Scored twice in UVM's win over VMI.
Around the League
- Albany defeated No. 9 UMass, 25-10, setting a program record for goals in a game.
- Vermont (3-2) split two games last week, beating VMI while losing to Richmond.
- Albany (2-2) moved up five spots in both the USILA Coaches Poll the Warrior Media Poll to #13.
- Lyle and Miles Thompson rank first and second nationally in points per game, averaging 7.25 and 6.25 respectively.
- Lyle leads the country in assists while Miles is tops in goals.
