Two of the top young talents in the league will be on display in the Seawolves' Jameel Warney and the Bearcats' Jordan Reed. Warney ranks second in the league in both scoring (15.4 ppg) in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and leads the nation shooting 65.5 percent from the field while Reed ranks seventh in the the league in scoring (14.0 ppg) and third in rebounding (7.8 rpg). Stony Brook has won eight straight in the series including a 67-47 win earlier this year.
Also Tuesday, two hot teams square off in Burlington as Vermont (14-9, 8-1 AE) hosts Maine (5-16, 3-6 AE) at 7 p.m. The Catamounts come in having won 10 of their last 11 games while the Black Bears have won consecutive games for the first time this season. The game pits the league's top offense (Maine - 73.7 ppg) against its top defense (Vermont - 61.3 papg).
On Monday, UMass Lowell (7-14) beat NJIT, 73-64, in non-league action, its sixth win in its last nine outings. The River Hawks outrebounded the Highlanders by 22 en route to the win. DJ Mlachnik led four Rivers Hawks in double figures with 15 points and Antonio Bivins had his first double double of the year (10 points, 10 rebounds).
