UMBC Earns Two of Three #AESB Weekly Awards

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Three America East softball players who led their teams to wins last week are the conference's weekly award winners for week two:

Player of the Week
Taylor Hall, Jr., Catcher, UMBC

  • Hit .444 (4-for-9) with two doubles and four RBI in four games last week.
  • Also walked seven times and had a .688 on base percentage.
  • Reached base four times and delivered an RBI double in a win over Iona Saturday.
Pitcher of the Week
Jessica Holte, Fr., Pitcher, UMBC
  • Went 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA last week, allowed just three runs in 15 innings of work.
  • Allowed one run on eight hits in a complete-game effort to earn a win over Niagara Friday.
  • Hurled eight innings while giving up just one run in a win over Elon Saturday.
Rookie of the Week
Elizabeth Snow, Fr., Catcher/Utility, Albany
  • Delivered a game-tying two-run homer in the seventh inning of Albany's 10-inning win over Marshall Friday.
  • Batted .286 for the week (4-for-14) with three RBI.
Around the League
  • Three America East teams played last week with Albany and Stony Brook kicking off their seasons.
  • UMBC (6-2) won all four of its games at Elon's Tournament.
  • Albany went 2-2 with victories over Marshall and Northern Illinois.
  • Hartford opens its season this weekend.
