CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – New Hampshire junior Ariel Gaston and Stony Brook senior Chikilra Goodman helped their teams to unbeaten weeks to earn America East women’s basketball Co-Player of the Week honors, while UMBC freshman Sara Tarbert was named Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this year. Here are the week 15 awards:
Co-Player of the Week
Ariel Gaston, Jr., New Hampshire
Toledo, Ohio
- Averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals while shooting 60 percent from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats.
- Scored a career-high 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting to go with five steals in a win at Binghamton. All 19 points came in the second half on 8-of-8 shooting.
- Recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and a career-best 11 rebounds in a 76-71 OT win over Hartford.
- Scored five points in OT including the final four for the Wildcats.
- Ranked sixth in scoring, 12th in rebounding and fourth in field goal percentage in the conference last week.
Co-Player of the Week
Chikilra Goodman, Sr., Stony Brook
Philadelphia, Pa.
- Recorded her fifth double-double of the season in a win over UMass Lowell.
- Scored a team-high 21 points and tied a career-high with 16 rebounds while also dishing out six assists.
- The 16 rebounds were tied for the third-most for any America East player this season.
- Ranked third in scoring, first and rebounding and second in assists in the conference last week.
Rookie of the Week
Sara Tarbert, Fr., UMBC
Delta, Pa.
- Led the Retrievers in scoring last week with 18.5 points per game while shooting 58.3 percent.
- Hit 10-of-11 from the floor while scoring 23 points against first-place Albany, marking her fifth 20-point effort of the season.
- Scored 14 points, hitting all six of her free throws, and added five assists and five rebounds in a win over Vermont.
- Ranked fourth in scoring and fifth in field goal percentage in the conference.

- UNH earned its first series sweep over Hartford since 2002-03.
- Vermont’s Kylie Butler scored 27 points at UMass Lowell, the most for a UVM freshman since Christie Lauzon had 28 on 3/3/1996 vs. Boston U.
- Maine’s eight America East wins are the most for the program since going 16-2 in 2004-05.
- New Hampshire’s 10 conference wins are the most for the team since 2004-05.
- Albany has won 36-straight conference regular-season games, one behind the longest winning streak in conference history (Maine, 1995-97).
- UMass Lowell boasts three of the top five scorers in the conference during league play - Jasmine McRoy (2nd, 15.8), Shannon Samuels (3rd, 15.5) and Lindsey Doucette (5th, 13.9).
- Stony Brook’s 18 wins are the most for the program since winning 18 in 2006-07. The program DI record is 20 set in 2005-06.
- Albany’s Shereesha Richards scored a program record 41 points at Vermont, the most for any America East player since Boston U.’s Katie Meinhardt had 43 in March of 2005.
- Richards’ nine Player of the Week honors are a single-season league record.
- 6 different players have had 30-point performances, the most since 7 different players accomplished the feat in 2008-09.
