Three America East women's basketball games are on the schedule on Sunday, highlighted by a battle between Hartford and New Hampshire at the Wildcats' Lundholm Gym on ESPN3 at 2 p.m.
The Hawks (9-15, 6-5) are coming off back-to-back losses after recording five-straight wins prior to that. Hartford is in fifth in the standings heading into Sunday with five games left on their schedule, but stand only three games behind the Wildcats for second place.
New Hampshire (15-9, 9-2) is having one of its best conference seasons in program history and broke a 17-game losing skid to Hartford in the first meeting this season. The Wildcats earned a, 61-56, in Hartford behind 16 points from Corinne Coia.
Vermont (6-18, 3-8) visits UMBC (2-22, 1-11) in a game that was rescheduled from Saturday due to snow that canceled the Catamounts' flight to Baltimore. The game will tip at noon on Sunday at RAC Arena and will air on AmericaEast.TV.
Albany (22-3, 12-0) has won 35-straight wins in conference play, just two behind the streak set by the team they will play on Sunday, Maine (14-11, 8-4). The Black Bears won 37-straight America East games between 1995-97, and are having their best conference season since 2004-05 this year.
On Saturday, Stony Brook edged out UMass Lowell, 79-68, at Tsongas Center behind 21 points and 16 rebounds from Chikilra Goodman. The River Hawks had an eight point lead in the first half and then held a 40-35 advantage with 18:04 left in the game before the Seawolves went on a 19-2 run to take control of the games. Shannon Samuels led UMass Lowell with a career-high 35 points.
