In a rare midweek noon game, Hartford (9-14, 6-4) hosts Maine (13-11, 7-4) in an important America East women's basketball contest to highlight three games on the schedule.
The Hawks have won 18-straight over the Black Bears, including earlier this season at the Cross Insurance Center. Hartford has five of its last six games and will host its Education Day on Wednesday with a noon tip on AmericaEast.TV.
A win for Maine will give the team its highest win total since winning 20 games in 2004-05. The Black Bears boast the league's active leading scorere in Ashleigh Roberts who stands 15th all-time at Maine with 1,113 career points.
Also on Wednesday night, UMass Lowell hosts Vermont in a rematch of the River Hawks first America East contest, which the Catamounts took by a final of 95-82. The game will tip at 7 p.m. on America East.TV. Vermont out-rebounded UMass Lowell, 62-28, in the contest as Niki Taylor had 23 points and 15 rebounds.
New Hampshire (14-9, 8-2) visits Binghamton (4-20, 1-10) to round out the schedule. The Wildcats had their best nine-game stretch in conference play in program history, getting off to an 8-1 start before falling to Stony Brook last time out.
On Tuesday night, Albany (22-3, 12-0) used strong defense down the stretch to hold off UMBC (2-22, 1-11), 56-46, at RAC Arena. The Great Danes, who have now won 35-straight conference games, used an 8-0 to extend a 35-34 lead to 43-34 with 11:10 to play. Albany then held UMBC without a basket for almost four minutes near the end of the contest to hold on for the road win. Megan Craig and Shereesha Richards did the damage for UAlbany, with Craig scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while Richards had 18 points and 10 boards. Sara Tarbert led UMBC with 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting.
