Englert was originally named one of 52 Division I nominees and 84 total women's players which a special voting panel, headlined by WNBA star Tamika Catchings, selected a 10-member team comprised of five Division I student-athletes and five others from NCAA Division's II, III and the NAIA. Joining Englert on the Division I Allstate WBCA Good Works Team was Kentucky's Kastine Evans, McNeese State's NeTanya Jones, Purdue's Courtney Moses and Georgia Institute of Technology's Shayla Bivins.

"These remarkable student-athletes serve as an inspiration to us all and another reason to celebrate those who contribute to the good in life."
While more often than not it's a player's performance on the court that is recognized, the Allstate WBCA Good Works Teamsshines a light on the positive impact these student-athletes have off the court and in their communities. The 10 young women named to this year's team demonstrate the unique ability to balance academics with athletics while committing themselves to giving back to others. Among the impressive list of accolades this year's teams boast include lobbying state legislature for new laws that could help save lives, donating tuition money to students in third world countries and dedicating countless hours to mentoring underprivileged children.
"The WBCA is proud to once again partner with Allstate in recognizing conscientious and caring student-athletes who are making a difference in their respective communities," said WBCA CEO Beth Bass. "Congratulations to these 10 young women and to the coaches who are privileged to have them on their respective teams."
The Allstate WBCA Good Works Teamwill be recognized during the 2014 WBCA Convention and at the 2014 NCAA Women's Final Four in Nashville, and will also participate in a local community project benefitting the city.
Englert, who is a tri-captain for the 2013-14 season, is averaging 5.3 points-per-game, while she is second overall on the team with 62 assists. Englert also leads Hartford from the field where she makes 44.8 percent of her attempts (43-of-96).
Off the court, Englert has participated in numerous community service events such as the Tabour House tag sale, Hartford Breast Cancer Walk, running youth clinics with the Boys and Girls Clubs and the YMCA and mentoring a buddy from the University of Hartford Magnet Elementary School. Englert was also key in planning and executing the Walk for Weaver fundraiser, raising more than $45,000 for former Hawk Amanda Weaver in her battle with cancer.
In the classroom, Englert is a three-time America East Academic Honor Roll recipient, including earning Commissioner's honors for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher twice.
The Allstate WBCA Good Works Team recognizes a select group of college basketball student-athletes who have made significant contributions to the greater good of their communities through volunteerism and civic service. In its second year, the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team honors players at all levels of college basketball who represent the sport's finest in the areas of leadership and charitable achievement among their peers. The student-athletes who receive this prestigious award embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back.
