CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Impressive performances by three America East men's basketball standouts netted Binghamton's Jordan Reed, Vermont's Sandro Carissimo and UMBC's Rodney Elliott the conference's weekly awards for week 14 Monday:
Co-Player of the Week
Jordan Reed, So., Forward, Binghamton
- Had a monster week, averaging 21.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per game, helping his team go 1-1.
- Scored 23 points and added 15 rebounds and three blocks in a loss to Stony Brook Tuesday.
- Led Binghamton to a win over Maine Saturday with a 20-point, 16-rebound, 4-steal performance.
- Award is his third of the season.
Co-Player of the Week
Sandro Carissimo, Sr., Guard, Vermont
- Had strong all-around performance in Vermont's win over Maine Tuesday.
- Contributed 20 points on nearly perfect 8-of-9 shooting, seven assists and four rebounds in lone game of the week.
- Award is his second of the year.
Rookie of the WeekRodney Elliott, Fr., Guard, UMBC
- Earned his league-best fifth Rookie of the Week honor after averaging a league-best 23.5 points per game as UMBC went 1-1 last week.
- Added 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
- Had a game-high 21 points and added four assists in a win over UNH Wednesday.
- Scored a career-high 26 points and added five rebounds in loss to UMass Lowell Saturday.

- Two games will air on ESPN3 this week: Albany at UMBC on Feb. 12 and Maine at Albany on Feb. 15.
- Vermont (9-1), winner of 11 of its last 12 games, sits atop the conference standings at 9-1.
- Stony Brook (9-2) is in second place.
- UNH won at Stony Brook Saturday, snapped the Seawolves' 23-game home court win streak in league games, which was the third-longest active streak in the nation.
- SBU and Vermont are receiving votes in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.
- Albany (6-5) and UMass Lowell (6-5) are tied for third in the league standings.
- Vermont's Brian Voelkel sits in fifth place on the league’s all-time rebound list (1,100) and is 14 shy of surpassing Tommy Brenton and Mark Halsel for third on the all-time chart.
- Voelkel is also just 31 assists of moving into the conference's top five all time in assists.
- He is the only play in NCAA Division I history with 1,000 rebounds and 600 assists.
- Stony Brook's Jameel Warney leads the nation shooting 64.5 percent from the field.
- Four different Binghamton players have earned Rookie of the Week honors this season, the first time in America East history four players from one team have earned the honor.
- America East is youth driven as six of the top 15 scorers are freshmen or sophomores.
