The junior was an IWLCA Northeast All-Region First Team pick, and ranked as high as second in the nation in points per game in 2014. Following her sophomore campaign, Bowles ranks 10th in Division I program history with 82 goals.
Stony Brook had three players selected as honorable mention Preseason All-Americans in senior Michelle Rubino, junior Alyssa Fleming and sophomore Dorrien Van Dyke. All three were tabbed first-team All-America East in 2014, and Rubino and Fleming were All-Region honorees.
Rubino led Stony Brook in draw controls (49) and caused turnovers (30) during a standout junior year. She was third on the team in goals (37) and second in assists (22) and ground balls (43).
Fleming has been a key cog in a defensive unit that has set an NCAA Division I record for scoring defense in each of the last two years, posting a team goals-against average of 5.65 in 2013 and 5.33 in 2014. She scooped up 55 ground balls last season, the third-most in single-season program history.
The only freshman to be named first-team All-America East, Van Dyke produced a historic rookie campaign. She led the team and freshmen nationally with 68 points and was second among freshmen nationally and on the team with 52 goals.
