INDIANAPOLIS - The 2014 America East Volleyball Champion New Hampshire Wildcats will travel to face No. 3 seed Washington in the NCAA Championship first round on Friday, Dec. 5 at 10:00 p.m. ET in the Seattle Regional. The full 2014 NCAA Volleyball bracket was released on ESPNU on Sunday night.
The Wildcats (20-11) won their second-straight America East title, defeating Albany in five sets on November 23 at Lundholm Gymnasium in Durham, N.H. Sophomore Demi Muses was named the Most Outstanding Player and she was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Brenna Buckwalter and Madison Lightfoot.
New Hampshire also captured its second-straight America East regular-season title with an 11-1 mark, tying tying the team's second-best record in program history. The Wildcats are 0-3 all-time in the NCAA tournament, with the team losing its previous two appearances in 2013 and 2003 to another Pac-12 team in USC.
America East teams have one win all-time in NCAA tournament play coming in 2007 when Albany defeated Cleveland State in three sets.
The 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament begins with first round and second round action Dec. 4-5 played at the home sites of the top-16 seeds. The regional semifinals and finals will take place Dec. 12-13 at predetermined sites. The National Semifinals and Finals will be played in Oklahoma City, Okla., Dec. 18 and 20.
