14 Men's & Women's Soccer Teams Honored by NSCAA

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced its Team Academic Awards on Monday afternoon and 14 America East men's and women's soccer programs were honored.

A total of 861 soccer teams (279 men, 582 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.

Of that total, 188 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized including five of the eight America East institutions that sponsor both men's and women's soccer.

Six men's programs were on the list including Albany, Binghamton, Hartford, UMBC, New Hampshire and Stony Brook. The Bearcats posted the highest GPA at 3.30.

Eight of the nine women's programs were honored including Albany, Binghamton, Hartford, Maine, UMBC, New Hampshire, Stony Brook and Vermont. UMBC had the highest GPA at 3.56.
