The America East women's soccer semifinals are set for Sunday afternoon with both games available live for free on AmericaEast.TV. No. 2 UMBC hosts No. 3 New Hampshire at 2 p.m. and No. 1 Hartford hosts No. 4 Albany at 3 p.m. Here are some notes to get ready for the games with links to watch the games live or follow with live stats:

Tournament Notes

  • This is the second-straight year the top-4 seeds have advanced to the semifinals. Prior to that, the top seeds had not all advanced since 2009.
  • The No. 1 seed has advanced to the finals every year of the championship except 1996.
  • The No. 2 seed has only won the America East title once (Boston University in 2007).
  • The No. 4 seed has only advanced to the finals once (1996)
  • The No. 3 seed has made six trips to the finals with the last coming in 2011 (Albany).

  • Hartford beat Albany, 1-0, in the regular-season meeting back on Sept. 28 in the conference-opener for both squads.
  • Albany topped Maine, 2-0, in the quarterfinals to move into the semifinals for the first time since 2011. It was the most goals for the Great Danes in an America East tournament game.
  • Albany leads the conference in scoring with 1.74 goals per game while Hartford is third at 1.47.
  • Hartford is making its 18th apperance in the America East Championship, capturing seven titles with the last coming in 2006.
  • The Hawks are  1-4-2 in their last seven home tournament games that includes a pair of shootout losses.
  • Albany and Hartford have met once previously in the America East Championship

 No. 3 New Hampshire at No. 2 UMBC - 1 pm

  • New Hampshire and UMBC played to a scoreless draw in the regular-season meeting on Oct. 9.
  • The Retrievers are making their second-straight appearance in the America East tournament but just their fourth overall.
  • UMBC, which had not won a tournament game prior to last season, captured the 2013 title as the No. 1 seed.
  • UMBC ranks second in the conference in scoring at 1.61 goals per game while New Hampshire is eighth at 0.72.
  • New Hampshire advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 2007 with a shootout win against Binghamton in the quarterfinals. It was also the first win for the Wildcats since beating Stony Brook in the 2007 semifinals.
  • This is the first meeting between the two teams in the America East Championship.
