CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Albany earned a pair of important wins to take sole possession of first place in America East volleyball and sweep the week seven honors. New Hampshire also notched a win to remain just half a game behind the Great Danes, while Stony Brook had its seven-match winning streak snapped. Here are the week seven awards:
Player of the Week
Amanda Dolan, Albany, So., OH/MB, Manhattan, Ill.
- Dolan tied for fourth in the conference with 3.44 kills per set while ranking third with a .426 hitting percentage. The sophomore also led the conference with 1.56 blocks per set.
- Helped Albany record wins over Hartford and Stony Brook.
- Totaled 12 kills on a .385 hitting percentage with eight blocks vs. Stony Brook.
- Posted a career-high 19 kills with an Albany season-high .457 hitting percentage with six blocks in a win over Hartford.
Setter of the Week
Mikala McCauley, Albany, So., Setter, Stanfordville, N.Y.
- Led the conference with 10.56 assists per set while helping the team rank second in the conference with a .204 hitting percentage.
- Also averaged 2.56 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Great Danes.
- Had 38 assists and nine digs vs. Stony Brook.
- Notched a double-double with 57 assists and 14 digs vs. Hartford.
Rookie of the Week
Emily Lopes, Albany, Fr., S/DS, Bakersfield, Calif.
- Led all freshmen and ranked ninth in the conference with 3.78 digs per set.
- Had 19 digs and two aces vs. Stony Brook.
- Totaled 15 digs in a win over Hartford.
Notes
- Stony Brook had its seven-match winning streak snapped, the third-longest in program Division I history.
- Albany took over first place with a 2-0 week. New Hampshire sits just a 1/2 game behind the Great Danes with a win over the weekend. No teams are unbetean in conference play.
- Hartford's Sareeta Nethersole leads the conference with 3.46 kills per set.
