Albany (16-3, 6-0) begins a stretch of three games in six days when the Great Danes host UMBC (2-17, 1-6) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. on AmericaEast.TV.
Albany has won seven-straight games and 29-straight conference regular-season games dating back to the 2011-12 season. The Great Danes are first in the conference in both scoring offense (72.9 ppg) and scoring defense (57.1 ppg), winning their first six conference games by an average of 33.0 points per game.
UMBC head coach Phil Stern has a young squad that includes just one year of varsity experience heading into the season. The Retrievers have been led by a pair of outstanding freshmen in Sara Tarbert and Taylor McCarley. Tarbert is first in the America East among freshmen in conference games at 11.6 ppg while McCarley is third at 10.6 ppg.
