Vermont Visits Cornell Thursday Night

Just one game in America East women's basketball on Thursday night as Vermont visits Cornell for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

The Catamounts (4-8) and the Big Red are meeting for the first time in 15 years when Vermont topped Cornell, 79-49, at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington, Vt. The Catamounts are coming off a loss to Boston University last time out despite 16 points off then bench from freshman Kristina White. Junior Niki Taylor is 54 rebounds away from becoming the 23rd player in UVM history to record 500 points and 500 rebounds.  She enters the game with 647 career points and 442 career rebounds.

Both Albany (9-3) and Maine (6-7) dropped non-conference games on New Year's Day. The Great Danes lost a close one to Hofstra, 60-56, despite the seventh double-double of the season by Shereesha Richards who had 23 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Maine fell, 72-49, at Green Bay with Cherrish Wallace scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds in her Black Bear debut.
