The first America East men's basketball ESPN3 game of the year takes place Sunday as Hartford and Stony Brook meet in West Hartford to kick off the television slate. Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (analyst) start their seventh season as America East's broadcasting team and will have the call starting at approximately 2:30 p.m following the Albany-Hartford women's game.

Hartford (7-10, 1-1 AE) enters the game have won two straight and four of its last six contests. The Hawks beat Maine to earn their first league win Thursday.
Stony Brook (9-6, 1-0 E) will try to snap a two-game losing streak, but the Seawolves have been stellar in January the last few years, going 16-4 in the month since 2012. The Seawolves have won nine of the last 10 meetings with the Hawks.
The two teams will match strengths against each other as Hartford leads the league shooting 46.7 percent from the floor as a team while Stony Brook is holding foes to 41.5 percent shooting. The game will also feature the top two scorers in the league in Hartford's Mark Nwakamma (1st - 16.4 ppg) and Stony Brook's Jameel Warney (15.9 ppg).
On Saturday, Vermont, UMBC and UMass Lowell picked up league wins.
The Catamounts (8-8, 2-0 AE) posted their fourth-straight win and fifth in six games by holding Albany (8-8, 2-1 AE) to a season-low 38 points in a 68-38 win. Clancy Rugg and Sandro Carissimo each had 13 points to pace UVM.
The Retrievers (5-11, 1-2 AE) turned 20 Maine (3-12, 1-2 AE) turnovers into 32 points and beat the Black Bears, 79-76, to earn their first league win. Chase Plummer and Bryan Harris led UMBC with 16 points apiece while Zarko Valjarevic had a game and season-high 24 points for Maine.
The River Hawks (3-11, 2-1 AE) posted their second-straight win and improved to 2-1 in America East play with a 71-59 victory at Binghamton (4-12, 1-2 AE). Akeem Williams was sensational for the River Hawks, scoring a season-high 23 points while adding seven rebounds and nine assists.
