A slow start didn't stop Stony Brook's men's basketball team from improving to 2-0 in America East play Sunday. After falling behind 20-10 to Hartford early, the Seawolves outscored the Hawks, 63-30, the rest of the way en route to a 73-50 victory.
Stony Brook (10-6, 2-0 AE) used a 25-10 run that bridged the first and second halves to open up an insurmountable lead. The Seawolves shot 57 percent for the game, including a 69 percent (18-of-26) in the second half. SBU also dominated Hartford (7-11, 1-2 AE) on the glass, 33-18.
Dave Coley led the way for Stony Brook by scoring 20 points and adding six rebounds and a career-best seven assists. Jameel Warney added 16 points and Ahmad Walker had his first career double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds). Wes Cole paced Hartford, tying his season high with 15 points off the bench.
