BRISTOL, Conn. – The America East Conference will be represented in ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon for the third time in four years, as Hartford will travel to take on Florida Gulf Coast as part of 24-hours of college basketball on the ESPN family of networks. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2 on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7 a.m.

Led by first-team all-conference selection Mark Nwakamma, the Hawks finished fourth in the conference in 2012-13, registering a 17-14 overall record while going 10-6 in league play. Nwakamma ranked fifth in the league, averaging 14.7 points per game. Hartford went on to play in its first postseason tournament since making the jump to Division I in 1984-95, hosting Rider in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

Florida Gulf Coast is coming off a Cinderella season in which the Eagles advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 in just their 22nd-year in existence as a university and garnered national attention. A No. 15 seed entering the NCAA tournament, FGCU knocked-off No. 2 seed Georgetown and No. 7 San Diego State before falling to Florida.

This will be the one of several America East games on ESPN networks in 2013-14 as the conference enters the third year of a five-year agreement with ESPN. Last year, America East teams made 109 appearances on ESPN networks, the most in league history.
