CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seven America East Women’s Lacrosse Players were named to Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region teams, including three first team and four second team selections.
Boston University senior attacker Danielle Etrasco and Albany junior defender Kathleen Lennon both earned All-Northeast Region First Team honors. Etrasco, an America East First Team All-Conference selection, ranks second in the conference and third in the country in goals per game at 3.69, tallying 59 for the year. She also tacked on 21 assists to total 80 points, which ranks third in the conference.
Lennon, also an America East First Team All-Conference honoree, set a single season conference record with 103 draw controls on the year. Her 6.06 draw controls per game average ranks fourth in the nation, while also leading the league in caused turnovers with a 1.53 per game average.
America East Co-Player of the Year Rachael Burek earned an All-Northeast Region second team nod after setting the conference record with 24 assists in six league games. Burek, a First Team All-Conference selection, leads the America East and ranks 11th in the country with 84 points for the year, finishing with 34 goals and 50 assists.
Joining Burek on the second team is teammate Jess Antelmi, who was both a First Team All-Conference and All-Academic selection. Antelmi is second on the Great Danes with 51 points, averaging 3.00 a game to rank eighth in the conference.
Rounding out the Northeast Region second team is Vermont attacker Syndey Mas. The senior earned America East First Team All-Conference honors after helping the Catamounts earn a spot in the America East Championship for the first time since 2009. She finished third in the conference in goals per game, scoring 47 goals in 17 contests for an average of 2.76.
The 2013 America East regular-season and tournament champions, Stony Brook, landed a pair of players on the Mid-Atlantic All-Region teams. Co-Player of the Year and Tewaaraton Award finalist Demmianne Cook earned first team honors. She leads the nation in scoring, averaging 4.5 goals per game and totaled 90 goals on the year, just one shy of the America East single season record. Cook finished with 96 total points, the fifth-most of anyone in the nation, and had at-least five points in each of her six conference games.
Cook’s teammate, Frankie Caridi, earned second team honors in goal for the Seawolves. Caridi recorded the lowest goals against average in America East history, allowing just 5.71 per game which ranks first in the nation. The junior also has the best save percentage in the country at .530.
