CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The 2013 America East men's lacrosse regular season wrapped up over the weekend and two standout performances from Saturday have been rewarded with the conference's final weekly awards of the season, which were announced Monday morning.

Albany's Miles Thompson set an America East record for points in a game and earned his second America East Player of the Week honor of the year while Pat Young led UMBC to a key win over Binghamton en route to garnering his second Rookie of the Week award in the last three weeks.

Thompson (Onondaga Nation, N.Y.) tallied 14 points on five goals and nine assists in the Great Danes 21-12 win over Stony Brook Saturday. The junior attack set an America East single-game record for points in a game while his nine assists are the most ever in a conference game and second-most by an America East player overall. The 14 points is also tied for the third most in a game in NCAA history.

Young (Ewing, N.J.) earned Rookie of the Week recognition by scoring four times, including the game winner with 1:18 remaining to lift UMBC to a 10-9 win over Binghamton, which secured a berth in the America East Championship. The freshman midfielder scored all four of his goals after halftime, including the tying goal early in the fourth quarter and the game winner in the final 90 seconds.

Hartford, UMBC and Stony Brook earned the final three spots in the 2013 America East Championship field over the weekend. Kevin O'Shea scored seven times to lead the Hawks to a 17-11 win at Vermont, which netted them the No. 2 seed in the tournament. The Retrievers earned the No. 3 seed while Stony Brook will No. 4.

Albany, which had already locked up the league's regular-season title and No. 1 seed for the tournament, completed its second-ever perfect America East slate with its win at Stony Brook. The Great Danes are ranked 12th in both national polls this week.

The 2013 America East Men's Lacrosse Championship, the first played at a single site since 2009, will be held at Stony Brook’s Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y.
