CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 13/13 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team won its fifth-straight game, defeated Albany 9-2, as part of two women's lacrosse games on Saturday in the second weekend of America East women's lacrosse action.
Binghamton also earned a win in its conference opener, outlasting Vermont, 7-6.

The No. 13/13 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team scored six unanswered goals in the second half en route to a 9-2 win over Albany in early conference action Saturday afternoon at LaValle Stadium.
Frankie Caridi continued to sparkle in net, making six saves and anchoring a defense that matched a single-game program record for fewest goals allowed for the second consecutive contest. Claire Petersen and Demmianne Cook led the way for Stony Brook (10-2, 2-0 AE) on offense with five points apiece, respectively. Petersen's points came on two goals and three assists, while Cook tallied three goals and dished out two helpers, both to Petersen.
Anna Berman recorded seven stops as Albany drops to 6-4 on the season and 1-1 in America East play.
Binghamton 7, Vermont 6
Sophomore Alex Fisher netted the game-winning goal with 7:42 left to play as the Binghamton women’s lacrosse knocked off Vermont 7-6, Saturday afternoon in America East action from the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Bearcats (2-6, 1-0 AE), who opened league play against the Catamounts (5-7, 0-2 AE), snapped a 10-game conference losing streak.
