An overtime thriller and two impressive offensive performances highlighted the first day of America East men's lacrosse conference play.
Hartford came back to post a 15-14 overtime win over UMBC, while Albany upended Binghamton, 21-8, and Stony Brook knocked off Vermont, 19-10.

Garrett Dollard scored netted the game-tying goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation and then delivered the game winner 54 seconds into overtime to lift Hartford (4-4, 1-0 AE) to a thrilling 15-14 victory over UMBC (3-6, 0-1 AE).
The Hawks overcame a three-goal fourth-quarter deficit to win for fourth time in their last five games. Dollard finished with three goals and an assist, while Kevin O'Shea paced Hartford with five scores and an assist. Pat Young's four scores led UMBC.
Stony Brook 19, at Vermont 10 -- Box Score
Stony Brook (6-4, 1-0 AE) used a 7-0 run and outscored Vermont 12-3 (3-7, 0-1 AE) in the first half en route to a 15-14 win in both team's league opener.
Freshman Brody Eastwood tied his career high with five goals, while senior Jeff Tundo added three goals and three assists. Drew Philie's four points (3G, 1A) led the Catamounts.
Albany 21, at Binghamton 8 -- Box Score
Lyle, Miles and Ty Thompson combined for 13 goals and five assists to lead Albany (6-3, 1-0 AE) to a 21-8 win over Binghamton (4-5, 0-1 AE) in the conference opener for both teams.
The Great Danes, who have won five of their last six games, scored 18 of the game's first 21 goals. Lyle Thompson had five goals and four assists, while Miles tallied five scores and Ty had three and one assist. Michael Antinozzi's three scores led Binghamton.
