CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - America East baseball teams will celebrate Easter weekend with the third week of conference play. Two of the series have been moved to Friday/Saturday, while Maine and Albany will play the traditional Saturday/Sunday format.
Maine is one game up on the rest of the league for first place entering the weekend, while four teams are tied with 3-3 records.

The Bearcats lead the America East in batting average, hitting .284 as a team and .307 during conference play. Binghamton took two of three form reigning champion Stony Brook last weekend. On the mound, Jay Lynch has been outstanding in his first two conference starts, going 1-1 with a 0.69 ERA, allowing just one earned run.
Hartford also has seen a lot of success offensively through the first two weeks of conference play, scoring 36 runs which is tied for second during league play. Freshman Chris DelDebbio lead the Hawks in hitting with a .297 average.

UMBC plays its first road series of the year at Stony Brook. The Retrievers won their first series of the year against Binghamton before dropped two of three to Albany last week. Brandon Coluccio has paced the UMBC offense with a .438 batting average in America East play.
Stony Brook has four losses in conference action after losing a total of just five games combined the last two season. The Seawolves are third in the conference in pitching with a 4.14 ERA, but have struggled offensively, with just 22 runs scored in league play.

Maine has taken two of three in each of its first two series to take a one game lead in the standings into play this weekend. The Black Bears are first in conference play in pitching with a 3.38 ERA, thanks in large part to Tommy Lawrence. The three-time America East Pitcher of the Week has yet to surrender an earned run in conference play in 17.0 innings pitched.
Albany won two of three on the road at UMBC last week after a stellar offensive performance from senior Nolan Gaige. Gaige hit .500 last week with five RBI and three triples. The Great Danes are second in the conference with a .288 batting average and tied for second with 36 runs scored.
