CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – As we hit the tail end of March, the women’s lacrosse six-game America East schedule begins with three games on Saturday.
Stony Brook (6-2) at Vermont (4-4), 12 p.m.

Preseason favorite Stony Brook is off to a hot start with a 6-2 record, with the team’s only two setbacks coming at No. 2 Florida No. 1 Maryland. The Seawolves are the only ranked America East team, coming it at No. 15 in the IWLCA poll and No. 16 in the deBeer Media Poll. Claire Petersen leads the Seawolves and the conference in points with 47.
Vermont sits at 4-4 so far on the year and ranks fourth as a team in the America East in both scoring (12.38) and in goals allowed (10.98). The Catamounts have had two losses come by one goal, including one in overtime.
New Hampshire (2-5) at Albany (4-3), 12 p.m.

New Hampshire has had some tough luck entering conference play, with three of the team’s five losses coming by one goal and another coming by just two goals. The Wildcats have won back-to-back games entering conference play, defeating Longwood and Columbia.
The Great Danes were picked to tie for second in the preseason coaches’ poll and are off to a 4-3 start. Albany has had some impressive victories, with the team’s four wins coming by an average of 13.5 goals per game.
UMBC (6-2) at Boston U. (2-4), 1 p.m.

UMBC was picked fourth in the preseason poll and has won six of its first eight games and three straight. The Retrievers only losses have come by three goals to local rival Towson and at No. 1 Maryland.
Boston U. has a 2-4 record but has played a very difficult schedule, including four games against top-20 ranked teams. The Terriers, have notched wins over No. 17/12 Massachusetts and No. 15/RV Ohio State. Boston U. has had close losses to No. 13/15 Dartmouth, No. 7/7 Notre Dame as well as on the road to Denver and Boston College.
