CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Both the Boston University and University of Hartford women’s basketball teams continue their seasons on Thursday night, hosting Postseason WNIT First Round contests. The Terriers welcome Sacred Heart to Case Gym, while the Hawks take on Harvard at Chase Family Arena. Both games will tip at 7 p.m.

Boston U. garnered the league's automatic bid to the Postseason WNIT after finishing second in the regular-season with a 14-2 record in America East play. The Terriers took the automatic bid after the conference regular-season champion (Albany), grabbed the NCAA automatic bid.
Boston U. hosts Sacred Heart on Thursday night at 7 p.m. this will be the fourth appearance in five years in the WNIT for the Terriers, posting a 1-3 overall record with the lone win coming at Case Gym in 2009 over Central Connecticut.
The Terriers have cornered the market on what are considered to be the three major individual categories. Chantell Alford leads the conference in scoring at 16.6 points per game, while Rashidat Agboola leads in rebounding at 9.0 per game and Mo Moran leads in assists at 5.9 per game. The last America East team to have individuals lead the conference in all three categories was Maine in 1989-90. That year, Rachel Bouchard led the conference in scoring and rebounding, while Cathy Iaconeta led the league in assists. No team has had three different players lead the conference in each category.

Hartford has had quite a decade. Since winning the program's first America East Championship in 2002, the Hawks have made a trip to a postseason tournament in all but two seasons, including an active streak of nine-straight seasons.
The Hawks make their 10th overall postseason appearance Thursday night when they host Harvard in the first round of the WNIT at 7 p.m. Hartford is 1-3 all-time in the WNIT and 3-10 in postseason tournaments. Hartford owns a 21-11 record heading into the postseason and fell to No. 1 Albany as the two seed in the America East Championship title game at SEFCU Arena in Albany, N.Y., on Sat., March 16.
