Seeding Still Up For Grabs on Final Day of Women's Hoops Regular Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Only two seeds have been determined as we head into the final day of the America East regular season and three teams are in a dead heat for the No. 3 seed.

Heading into the final day, here is what we know:

·     Albany is the No. 1 seed

·     Hartford is the No. 2 seed

·     UMBC, Vermont and Stony Brook can finish anywhere between No. 3 and No. 6.

·     New Hampshire can finish between No. 5 and No. 7.

·     Binghamton could finish between No. 6 and No. 8

·     Maine can finish either No. 7 or No. 8

 

UMBC (10-18, 6-9) and Binghamton (5-23, 4-11) highlight the afternoon with a contest that will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3. Eric Frede and Leah Secondo have the call beginning at 2 p.m. The game will be live on ESPN3 and via the WatchESPN app on smartphones and tablets and through Xbox LIVE. Binghamton defeated UMBC 66-57 on Jan. 30 in Baltimore. The Retrievers could finish as high as the No. 3 seed and as low as the No. 6 seed, while Binghamton could move up into the No. 6 seed.

New Hampshire (10-17, 5-10) visits Maine (4-23, 3-11) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with both teams looking to move up in the America East standings. Maine can move into the No. 7 seed with a win and a loss by Binghamton. New Hampshire can move up to as high as the fifth seed with a win and losses by UMBC, Stony Brook and Vermont.

Albany (24-3, 15-0) tries to close out the seventh undefeated regular-season in conference history at home against Stony Brook (14-14, 6-9) at 2 p.m. The Seawolves have their highest win total since 2006-07 and can finish as high as third with a win along with losses by UMBC and Vermont. The Great Danes have the No. 1 seed locked up.

Vermont (9-19, 6-9) visit Hartford (18-10, 9-6) at 2 p.m. The Hawks are the No. 2 seed in the America East Championship, clinched the seed with a win over UMBC on Wednesday night. Vermont could finish as high as No. 3 and as low as No. 6. Hartford won the first meeting between the two teams in Burlington, 60-51.
