Albany, Hartford and Vermont all had contributions from up and down their rosters en route to convincing wins in America East men's basketball action Wednesday.
The Great Danes (18-7, 7-4 AE) shot 55 percent from the field, including 63 percent after halftime, in a 79-56 win at UMBC (6-17, 4-6 AE). Eleven Great Danes found the scoresheet, led by Jacob Iati's 14 points. D.J. Evans added a career-high 12 off the bench for Albany, which has won back-t0-back games after dropping three straight. Chase Plummer paced UMBC with 15.
The Hawks (13-10, 6-4 AE) used a 17-4 second-half run to pull away from the Bearcats (3-20, 1-9 AE) en route to a 76-62 win. Hartford, which has its most wins since the 2007-08 season, had three players in double figures and two others with nine points. Mark Nwakamma led with way registering his league-best eighth 20-point game, scoring 22 points and adding seven rebounds.
The Catamounts (15-7, 8-2 AE) won on their home floor for the 13th straight time against an America East foe, beating New Hampshire (6-16, 2-8 AE), 63-48. Ten Catamounts scored at least three points as they outscored the Wildcats, 34-16 in the first half. LuKe Apfeld led the way scoring 16 points in just over 14 minutes off the bench. Patrick Konan paced UNH with 15 points.
