Women's Basketball Teams Protect Home Court With 4-0 Record Wednesday Night

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - America East women's basketball teams went a perfect 4-0 at home on Wednesday night as we head down the final stretch of the regular season.

Three players scored in double digits as the Boston U. (19-4, 9-1) defeated Stony Brook (12-11, 4-6), 64-45, Wednesday night at Case Gym. The victory extends the Terriers’ winning streak to 12 straight games over the Seawolves. Senior Chantell Alford reached the 20-point plateau for the seventh time this season to lead Boston U., as the Terriers led from start to finish and built a double-digit lead with just over 13 minutes to go in the first half.

Hartford (15-8, 6-4) used a strong second half to pull away from Binghamton (4-19, 3-7) to notch a 65-50 win. Nikkia Smith led the Hawks with 14 points while Amber Bepko added 12. After a three pointer from Binghamton's Mallory Lawes cut Hartford's lead into single digits, 52-43, with 3:40 remaining the Hawks began to pull away scoring seven straight and 12 of the last 16 to secure the victory.

Kelsey Hogan scored a season high 17 points on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field including 4-of-4 from 3-point range to lead New Hampshire (9-13, 4-6) to a, 67-45, win over Vermont (7-15, 4-5). The Wildcats jumped out to a big lead and never looked back, scoring the game's first 18 points and keeping the Catamounts without a field goal for the first nine minutes of the contest.

Albany (19-3, 10-0) remained the lone unbeaten team in America East play with a, 85-41, win over UMBC (7-16, 3-7). After UMBC tied the game at 4-4, Albany used a 12-0 run to take a 16-4 lead with 6:56 left to play in the first half and never trailed again. Shereesha Richards led the Great Danes, totaling a game-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds, five steals, and two assists.
