Pair of Repeat Performers Earn America East Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second-straight week, Albany senior Ebone Henry captured America East women's basketball Player of the Week honors, while Maine's Liz Wood was named Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Henry (San Diego, Calif.) earned her third Player of the Week honor this season after leading the conference in scoring the week, averaging 22.5 points per game in wins over Stony Brook and Binghamton. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists, while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor, including 46.2-percent from 3-point range and 90.0-percent from the free throw line. On the road at Stony Brook, Henry scored a game-high 23 points, along with five rebounds, three assists, and a steal. At home against Binghamton at the 16th Annual Big Purple Growl, Henry scored 22 points while also recording six boards, four assists, and two steals. Henry helped the Great Danes to a 16-for-18 performance from the free throw line, going 6-for-6 in the game.

Wood (Catlett, Va.) earned her third-straight Rookie of the Week award after averaging 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game. She led all freshmen for the week in scoring and rebounding, while also recording her fifth and sixth-straight games in double figures. Wood started the week with 12 points, three rebounds and two steals against New Hampshire. The freshman followed that with her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 19 points while grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds to go with four assists against UMBC. She shot 41.2-percent from the floor, including 40-percent from 3-point range for the week.

Albany is the lone unbeaten team in the America East. The last team to go undefeated in league play was Hartford in 2009-10... Stony Brook beat New Hampshire Saturday to sweep the season series, marking the first time the Seawolves have swept an opponent since 2010-11.
