With just two weeks left in the men's basketball regular season, Albany and Maine picked up wins Saturday, while Boston U. and New Hampshire meet on Sunday.
The Great Danes (19-8, 8-5 AE) moved into sole possession of third place in the league standings with a convincing 75-49 win over Hartford (14-12, 7-6 AE). Albany, which matched last year's win total with the victory, shot 55 percent from the field while holding the Hawks to just 30 percent shooting. Jacob Iati led Albany with 18 points, while Mark Nwakamma paced Hartford with 12.
The Black Bears (11-15, 6-7 AE) picked up their third straight win, a 64-60 victory at Binghamton (3-23, 1-12 AE). Maine held Binghamton to just 30 percent shooting en route to the win. Zarko Valjarevic tallied a career-best 25 points, while Jordan Reed had a career-high 29 points and 15 rebounds, his league-leading 11th double-double of the year.
On Sunday, Boston U. (14-11, 8-4 AE), winner of three straight and six of seven, hosts New Hampshire (7-16, 3-8 AE) at The Roof at 1 p.m. The Terriers won the first meeting between the two teams, 69-59, on Jan. 19.
