Two America East men's basketball games were played Wednesday and both were thrillers as Maine and New Hampshire pulled out victores.

The Black Bears got a last-second basket from Justin Edwards to down Hartford, 66-64, while New Hampshire outlasted UMBC, 92-86 in overtime.

Maine (10-15, 5-7 AE) won its second straight as Edwards, America East's leading scorer, putback a miss as time expired to break a 64-64 tie. The Black Bears shot 51 percent from the field and moved into sixth place in the league standings with the win. Edwards led Maine with 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Mark Nwakamma had 17 to lead Hartford (14-11, 7-5 AE), which had its three-game win streak snapped.

New Hampshire (7-16, 3-8 AE) picked up its third league win by putting five players in double figures and registering season-highs of 92 points and 53 percent shooting. UMBC's (6-19, 4-8 AE) forced the extra session with a game-tying three-pointer as time expired, but the Wildcats scored 18 points in overtime to seal the win, Bill Herrion's 152 America East, which sets the new conference standard. Patrick Konan had 22 points and 10 boards to pace UNH while Joey Getz led UMBC with 22 off the bench.
