Stony Brook Visits Hartford Sunday; MBB Road Teams Go 2-1 Saturday

Hartford hosts Stony Brook a day after the game was originally scheduled to be played due to the blizzard that struck the northeast. Three games did get played Sunday with Boston U., Maine and Vermont picking up wins.

The Hawks (13-10, 6-4 AE), winners of two straight, are looking for their signature win of the season against the first-place Seawolves (17-5, 8-1 AE) Saturday at Chase Family Arena. Hartford already has its most wins since the 2007-08 season and Stony Brook, winner of four straight and nine of 10, is off to its best Division I start.

On Saturday, Boston U. (13-11, 6-4 AE) moved into third place in the America East standings with a 79-58 win at Binghamton and held the Bearcats to 30 percent shooting. D.J. Irving scored a career-high 27 points to lead the way. Jordan Reed's double double of 17 points and 11 rebounds paced Binghamton.

Elsewhere, Maine (9-15, 4-7 AE) snapped a four-game losing skid with a 66-52 win over Albany (18-8, 7-5 AE). The Black Bears scored 26 of the game's first 37 points. Justin Edwards paced four Maine players in double figures with 16 points. Sam Rowley led Albany with game-highs of 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Finally, Vermont (16-7, 9-2 AE) picked up its four-consecutive win, a 67-55 win at UMBC (6-18, 4-7 AE). The Catamounts outrebounded the Retrievers 42-24 en route to the win. Clancy Rugg's double-double of 18 points and 10 boards paced UVM, while Joey Getz and Brian Neller each had 12 points to lead UMBC.
