CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Two of the league's top players, Stony Brook's Jameel Warney and Vermont's Sandro Carissimo, had big weeks to earn America East men's basketball Co-Player of the Week honors while Albany's Dallas Ennema picked up Rookie of the Week accolades for week 7: 


Co-Player of the Week
Jameel Warney, So., Forward, Stony Brook

  • Averaged 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and shot an incredible 81 percent from the floor to lead Stony Brook to two wins last week.
  • Recorded his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds while adding five assists and four blocks in a win at Loyola Thursday.
  • Contributed 14 points and seven rebounds in a win over Cornell Sunday.
  • The honor is Warney's third of the season.

Co-Player of the Week
Sandro Carissimo, Sr., Guard, Vermont

  • Averaged 22.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games last week.
  • Led Vermont to its first league win of the year, scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds at UMass Lowell Wednesday.
  • Scored a game and career-high 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting at Harvard Saturday.
Rookie of the Week
Dallas Ennema, Fr., Guard, Albany
  • Contributed to Albany's win over Yale in first career game by scoring eight points on 3-of-4 shooting in just 10 minutes of play.
  • Shot 2-of-3 from three-point land.

  • Stony Brook beat Loyola and Cornell last week to improve to 9-4 on the year.
  • The Seawolves have won three straight and four of their last five games.
  • SBU receiving votes in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.
  • Albany beat Yale Saturday, its third win in its last four games.
  • Hartford's win over St. Peter's Sunday was its third in its last four games.
  • Vermont got off to a 1-0 start in conference play with a win over UMass Lowell Wednesday.
  • Both the Catamounts and Stony Brook are 1-0 in league play while the River Hawks and UNH are 0-1.
  • America East is youth driven as five of the top 10 scorers are freshmen or sophomores.
  • Vermont's Brian Voelkel became just the ninth player in league history to reach the 1,000-rebound mark Saturday at Harvard.
  • Stony Brook's Dave Coley eclipsed the 1,000-point mark Sunday.
