Albany won for the third time in four games Tuesday, beating Brown, 74-68, on the road. Four of the Great Danes' five wins this season have come away from home. Albany (5-4) got to the free throw line 46 times and made 35 of its tries to cement the win. Junior Sam Rowley led the way with 20 points.
Also Tuesday, Hartford (3-8) allowed Central Conn. State to shoot 53 percent from the field and failed to build off its win over Holy Cross Saturday, falling 73-59. Yolonzo Moore II led the Hawks with 19 points.
UMBC (3-6) is the lone America East squad in action on Wednesday as it goes across town to take on Coppin State at 7:30 p.m. Rodney Elliott, the league's top freshman scorer (13.8 ppg), leads the Retrievers while Chase Plummer is averaing 13.9 points per game, including 24.0 ppg over his last two games.
