CAMBRIDGE, Mass.  - Just two games remain in America East men's soccer regular-season play and points are at a premium with just one team having clinched a postseason bid and sixth others separated by just five points in the standings. Two players who led their teams to crucial league wins over the weekend are this week's award winners:

Player of the Week
Omar Tall, Jr., Hartford
Dakar, Senegal

  • Scored the lone goal in Hartford 1-0 win at Stony Brook Sunday.
  • The win moved Hartford into a tie for third place in the league standings with Albany and Vermont.
  • Knocked home a loose ball in the box with just 30 seconds left before the first half Sunday.

Rookie of the Week
Jonathan Interiano, Fr., Albany
Brentwood, N.Y.

  • Tallied his first career goal 3:27 into to double overtime to lift Albany to a 2-1 win over UNH Saturday.
  • Scored on a free kick just outside the box.
  • The win moved Albany into a third-place tie with Hartford and Vermont in the league standings.

Around the League

  • UMBC (12-1-2, 3-0-2, 11 pts AE) is the lone team to have locked up a bid to the league championship.
  • The Retrievers are ranked sixth in the latest Top Drawer Soccer Top 25, No. 8 in the latest NSCAA Coaches' Poll, 10th in the College Soccer News Poll.
  • UMBC ranks 13th nationally in scoring offense (2.0 gpg).
  • New Hampshire (9-5-0, 3-2-0, 9 pts AE) sits in second place in the league standings with nine points.
  • UNH's Travis Worra ranks fifth nationally with a 0.88 save percentage.
  • Albany, Hartford and Vermont are tied for third in the league standings with seven points.
  • Hartford's 10 wins are its most 2003.
  • The Great Danes are 3-2-1 in their last six games after starting the season 1-7-2.
  • America East teams are an impressive 40-33-9 (.543) in non-league play this season.
