University junior Rashidat Agboola and Albany freshman Shereesha Richards
earned the first America East awards of 2013, as America East teams completed
their first week of conference play.
Agboola (Methuen, Mass.) earned her first America East
honor of the season after helping Boston University to a 2-0 start in
conference play with road wins at Stony Brook and Hartford. She started the
week with nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds in the Terriers win over the
Seawolves. She followed that with a conference-high 26 points for the week,
accounting for more than half of Boston U.'s points in a 45-39 win at Hartford.
Agboola also had five rebounds, three assists and three blocks in the contest.
For the week, she averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game
ranking second in the conference in scoring and fifth in rebounding for the
week. Agboola earned the sixth Player of the Week honor for the Terriers this
season, as Chantell Alford has claimed four and Mo Moran had one.
Richards (Oceanview, N.J.) earned her fourth Rookie of the
Week award after helping lead Albany to a 2-0 start to the America East
Conference season, averaging 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting a
blistering 76.4 percent (13-17) from the floor. The freshman forward recorded
her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds in a win
over UMBC on Wednesday, also recording one steal while shooting 5-of-7 from the
floor. On Saturday at Binghamton, Richards led all scorers with 18 points,
while adding six rebounds and one steal, hitting 8-of-10 shots from the field
and 2-of-3 free throws.

Albany's Ebone Henry moved into second place on the Albany career
points list after scoring 25 against UMBC... Boston U's 12-3 start is the best
for any America East team since Hartford was 27-3 in 2009-10... Albany has an

game and are on pace for 247 this season. The America East record is 223 set by
