All Three Road Teams Win On Wednesday Night in Women's Hoops Action

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  Road teams had a good night on Wednesday, going 3-0 as Albany, Binghamton and Hartford each won going away in America East women's hoops action.

Lindsey Lowrie hit her first of three first half 3-pointers at the 15:42 mark of the first half to give Albany (17-3, 8-0) a 6-5 lead and the Great Danes never trailed again, beating Stony Brook (11-10, 3-5), 68-35. The Great Danes are the lone unbeaten team in America East play, beating teams by an average of 27.5 points per game. Ebone Henry added on to her school record career point total with a game-high 23 points.

Binghamton (4-17, 3-5) went on the road to win for the second time in conference play, beating UMBC (6-15, 2-6), 66-57. Jasbriell Swain was three assists short of a triple-double, notching 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists while Sherae Swinson finished with 17 points to lead the Bearcats.

Binghamton got off to a fast start, using a 14-2 first half run to attain a 23-14 lead with 4:47 to go. The Bearcats would go up double digits before halftime and maintained a double digit advantage for most of the second half. Raven Harris led UMBC with 24 points to go with six assists and six steals.

Hartford (14-7, 5-3) gutted out a crucial road win at Vermont (7-14, 4-4), topping the Catamounts 60-51 to take over third place in the conference standings. Vermont led by as many as 11 points in the first half, using a 7-0 run that culminated with a layup for Lauren Buschmann with 3:28 left.

The Catamounts maintained a lead through the beginning of the second half despite an 8-0 Hartford run to pull within one at 30:29 with 17:11 left. The Hawks grabbed their first lead since the opening basket of the game with a 9-0 run to go up 52-48 with 4:23 remaining. Vermont trailed by two with 2:05 left before back-to-back buckets by Nikkia Smith, who led Hartford with 12 points, to extend the advantage to six.
