Mass. - Albany senior Ebone
Henry set the program record for points scored in a career and was named
America East women's basketball Player of the Week, the conference office
announced Monday. Maine's Liz Wood earned her second straight Rookie of the
Week honor.
Henry (San Diego, Calif.) led the Great Danes to a 2-0
week, as Albany remains the lone undefeated team in America East play. Henry,
who became the all-time leading scoring in program history, averaged 18.0
points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 7.0 steals in wins over Boston U. and
Vermont. She shot 54.1 percent from the field, including 50 percent from 3-point
range. In the win over the Terriers on the road, Henry scored 15 points to go
along with four rebounds, four assists, and eight steals. At home on Saturday
versus Vermont, Henry scored 21 points to become the program's scoring leader,
besting a 27-year-old record. She also finished with seven rebounds, six
assists, and six steals, shooting 6-for-13 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the
free throw line.
Wood (Catlett, Va.) continued her strong play for the Black
Bears and led Maine to its first conference win, averaging 17.0 points, 8.0
rebounds, 3.0 assists, 4.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. She also shot
52-percent from the field in a 1-1 week. Wood scored a career-high 22 points to
start the week against Vermont, marking the third-straight game the freshman
had notched a career-high in points. She also had six rebounds and four steals
in the contest while hitting 3-of-6 attempts from 3-point range. In Maine's win
over Stony Brook Saturday, Wood filled that stat sheet with 12 points, nine
rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks while shooting 55.6-percent
from the floor.

Albany
is the lone unbeaten team in the America East. The last team to go undefeated
in league play was Hartford in 2009-10... Boston U. head coach Kelly Greenberg
