CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Albany and Boston University both won close contests to stay unbeaten in league play, while Stony Brook improved to 3-2 in Saturday's action.
Facing its first halftime deficit of the conference season, Boston University (16-3, 6-0) battled back to beat New Hampshire (6-11, 1-4) on Saturday. The Wildcats were within two points,
54-52, following Cari Reed's sixth 3-pointer of the game. With four seconds
remaining, Whitney Turner was whistled for a foul which put Morgan Frame on the line
with the chance to tie the game. She hit the backend of her two shots
but the Wildcats quickly fouled Danielle Callahan to put her on the line at the
other end with two seconds to play and a slim 54-53 lead. Callahan
connected on the front end of her opportunities but the Terriers came up
with the offensive rebounds to seal the 55-53 victory.
