CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Seven America East student-athletes and eight track and field teams received national all-academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) earlier this week.

Five individual females and five women's teams collected recognition. University of Maine's Corey Conner and Jesse Labreck, University of New Hampshire's Allison Letourneau, and University of Vermont's Morgan Powers and Kirsten Weberg earned the honor based on both their academics and their athletics achievements. Conner, Powers and Weberg all also earned All-America accolades on the track in 2012.

The University at Albany, Binghamton University, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont women's teams captured team honors.

On the men's side, two individuals and three teams received recognition. The USTFCCCA honored Binghamton's Adam Quinn, the America East Indoor Track & Field Male Scholar-Athlete winner, and Vermont's Sam Hoadley, as well as the Binghamton, Maine and Vermont teams.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds). Squads must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better to qualify as an All-Academic Team.
